Bartlesville Students Unite To Raise Money For 9-Year-Old Girl's Make-A-Wish Trip

Students in Bartlesville are raising money to help a nine-year-old girl get to Disney World and theme parks across the country as part of her Make-A-Wish.

Kendra Loader lives in Copan and has already had three open heart surgeries.

All of the students at St. John’s Catholic School in Bartlesville wanted to work together for their annual community service project.

So, the Trike-A-Thon fundraiser for Kendra was born.

Kendra was so happy they did it. "I feel like they support me a little,” said Kendra.

The money raised will help Kendra go to Disney World and travel the country as part of a program called Give Kids The World.

Kendra's family is so thankful for the school's help.

"It means a lot,” said Krystal Loader, Kendra’s mother. “Kendra does not go to school here, I work here and her sister goes to school here, for them to come together as a family, means a lot to our family. Very heart touching."

"It's just amazing to see the support we can get for Kendra,” said Dalton Loader, Kendra’s father. “When she was little, it was a hard thing to go through, and now I feel like, things are better, and the support she's had is just wonderful."

Dalton said he admires Kendra for never giving up, and never letting her heart problems stop her from accomplishing her dreams.

"She's a great kid, she's a fighter,” said Dalton. “She had those three heart surgeries and multiple other things going on with her, and she's just an amazing kid."

Dalton said he owes it all to the school for bringing everyone together.

"I just want to thank everybody for all this,” said Dalton. “I never expected something like this. It's wonderful."
