Cherokee Nation Giving $13M In Grant Money To Help 1st Responders

The Cherokee Nation is giving 13 million in grant money to help first responders.

The tribe is providing $50,000 to sheriff's offices, police departments, paramedics and fire departments to help them buy any tools they may need.

The Cherokee Nation says it works with about 260 city and county agencies. The tribe says it has also invested millions of dollars to expand its marshal service.
