An Oklahoma man released from prison two weeks ago will be sent to jail again.

Luther Police said this time 29-year-old Leslie Murray faced multiple complaints stemming from a high-speed pursuit on Monday and ramming a stolen truck into patrol cars. Murray had a female accomplice who was also arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center.

Luther police captured a muddy and confused suspect on Tuesday in an Edmond neighborhood.

“I just don’t think he knew where he was at, honestly,” Luther Police Capt. Christ Fetters said.

The night before, Murray and Hollie Baker, 24, led Luther police on a high-speed pursuit in Eastern Oklahoma County. Fetters said it started as a traffic stop.

“One of the officers noticed a vehicle in the area that seemed out of place,” said Fetters. “He got behind the vehicle, attempted to stop the truck.”

Fetters said at one point during the pursuit officers had Murray cornered, but he reversed the truck ramming into an Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office patrol car and a Luther patrol car.

“It was at that time when the suspect turned around and went headlong into one of my officers,” said Fetters. “The officer was in fear of being struck by the vehicle and fired three shots at the suspect.”

Murray was not hit by the officer’s gunfire but eventually crashed out on Highway 66 near Post Road. Murray and the female suspect took off on foot.

“She was arrested for the same charges as he was,” said Fetters. “At no point in time did she tell him to stop the pursuit, so she’s an accessory.”

Twelve hours later, a police K-9 unit tracked Murray down after an Edmond police officer spotted the suspect in a gated neighborhood.

Police said the truck Murray was driving was reported stolen out of Seminole and investigators believe Murray may be responsible for thefts in Luther, adding to his lengthy Oklahoma criminal record.

“He’s a six-time convicted felon,” Fetters said.

Murray also had a warrant out of Logan County for burglary and receiving stolen property.
