TTCU Federal Credit Union Named Title Sponsor Of Tulsa Run

The Tulsa Run and the Williams Route 66 Marathon will now have the same ownership.

TTCU Federal Credit Union also announced Monday that it is the new title sponsor for the Tulsa Run.

"The Tulsa running community is very close-knit, and I think it's really awesome for them to be able to come out and support both events," said Destiny Green, the executive director.

Green said Route 66 Marathon will now be taking over all management and operations of the Tulsa Run.

She said this will help bring the running community together and draw more runners for each event.

"We just want to be super cohesive in our running environment and support each other and I feel like the Williams Route 66 has done that across our community. And this is another way for us to do that and embrace our runners and give them something great," Green said.

TTCU is now the title sponsor of the Tulsa Run.

CEO Tim Lyons said this is a full circle moment, as his wife ran in the first Tulsa Run in 1978, and he ran for the first time in 1980.

"We didn't know how big it would get, or that we would have this opportunity to support it 45 years down the road," Lyons said.

Lyons said there are many great things happening in Tulsa, and he's happy TTCU gets to be a part of it.

"All of the many things that are going on here, it's so important to keep the Tulsa Run there because it's been a foundational event, for our city and region, and we need to keep it alive and strong," he said.

Both of the races are set to take place this fall.
