Tulsa Police are looking for two men Monday morning. One is accused of stealing a woman's SUV with her five children inside after he and another man tried to steal a trailer from the victim's family business.
It all started around 8 p.m. Sunday when the victim said she caught two men on her surveillance camera trying to steal a trailer from her family business near Admiral and 177th East Avenue.
The victim and her family got in their SUV to try to confront the suspects, police said.
After a brief altercation, one of the suspects ran off and the other jumped in the driver seat of the victim's SUV and took off with her five children still inside, police said.
"(The) 16-year-old pleads for him to stop the car and let them out. The 16-year-old grabs the seven-year-old. They get out. As the 16-year-old leans out to get the kids out the car seat, the suspect takes off, dragging the 16-year-old," said Lt. Justin Oxford with Tulsa Police.
The suspect eventually drove the SUV into a ditch near 21st and 177th East Avenue, jumped a gate, and ran away, according to police.
Police said they used a police dog to search the area for the suspects, but the search came up empty.
In the end, the family was reunited with all five children, their SUV and trailer, police said.
Police said the 16-year-old was treated for minor injuries, and all of the other children were OK.
Police said they are still searching for the two suspects, but they do have the pickup the suspects used to steal the trailer.
