A man is in custody accused of shooting and killing a homeless man in Tulsa overnight, police said.
The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office arrested and accused Thomas Knox, 38, of the deadly shooting.
Authorities said it happened at the Dollar General near Pine and Yale just before 1 a.m. on Monday.
The victim, 46-year-old Paul Schultz, was found shot in the leg in the parking lot. Deputies said he was taken to the hospital where he later died.
The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office said Schultz worked at the Dollar General and was also homeless. He lived in a tent alongside the business, authorities said.
Surveillance video shows Thomas Knox pull up in front of the store where he spoke with the victim and then shot him, authorities said.
Knox drove away, but deputies said they found him at his home nearby a few hours later.
TCSO said he will booked into the Tulsa County Jail and he is a tribal citizen, so federal investigators will take over.
Knox is charged with second-degree murder and discharging a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, records indicate.
