Tally's Good Food Café In Tulsa Provides Free Meals On Thanksgiving

Several restaurants around Green Country are making sure everyone can have a hot Thanksgiving meal. News On 6's Kristen Weaver was live at Tally's with more.

Dozens of volunteers and days of hard work brought a free meal to life at Tally's on Route 66, and there wasn't an empty seat in the whole place.

Tally Alame owns Tally's Good Food Café and this is his 36th year of serving a free Thanksgiving meal.

The meal is free for everybody with no questions asked. You can get all of the classics, from rolls, to turkey, to cranberry sauce and lots of pots of hot coffee.

There was a huge line before the 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning opening. Tally said he usually serves 1,200 to 1,300 people.

Tally said he's had a tough year, but people are still supporting him and he wants to continue giving back.

"We start on Sunday cutting vegetables, cooking turkey and the broth, and so on. So it's a four-day process," Tally said.

The free meal goes until 2 p.m. Thursday at the 11th and Yale location if you want to take a seat and enjoy lunch too.
