The City of Broken Arrow is relaunching a website city leaders said allows for more transparency with the city's finances.
OpenGov is a website that tracks all of Broken Arrow's annual budget, sales tax, and year to date expenses and revenues.
It was initially launched in 2017. However, when Broken Arrow transferred its accounting system to a new computer system, the city had to rebuild the website.
Broken Arrow believes having this tool allows the city to be more transparent with the public. Anyone can go online and see how money is being spent.
"Well because bottom line, it’s the citizens' money. It’s because we're sales tax generated. And we just wanna be able to show them where we spend the money and how it comes in," said Cindy Arnold, Broken Arrow Finance Director.
The information on OpenGov is updated daily, except for sales tax information which is updated monthly.
You visit OpenGov by going to the City of Broken Arrow's website and click on the Financial Transparency Portal. CLICK HERE to learn more.
