As many as one billion people around the world will watch The Big Game this Sunday, February 11 on CBS.
Only a tiny fraction of people will see the game from the stands. But thanks to new technology, CBS will bring the game to the best seats in the house: your living room.
Jason Cohen, VP of Remote Technical Operations for CBS Sports, took Jared Hill behind the scenes into the full production from Las Vegas.
At Allegiant Stadium, Cohen's team works around the clock to bring viewers closer than ever to the rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers.
To do that, CBS Sports is deploying 165 cameras on game day. That includes sky cams, drones, augmented reality cameras, and more.
"We can zoom in really, really tight to see, 'Was his knee down before he crossed the goal line?' with tremendous resolution," Cohen said.
"The replay producers have roughly 17 to 18 seconds to pick which angle they want. And roll those angles before the next play," Cohen said.
CBS Football Analyst and former quarterback Tony Romo said the broadcast team is ready.
"These are two well-coached teams. They got great design coming in and I think this is gonna be a heck of a game," Romo said.
