The NBA's All-Star weekend tips off Friday night in Indianapolis, and fans will see something they've never seen before: a new type of court.
The court is a brand new state-of-the-art LED floor developed by ASB GlassFloor. The playing surface is made of glass, and features a slight texture that will allow for more grip, but won't hurt players if they slide on the floor. LED panels are mounted under the glass, and cooled by air-conditioning.
The new floor will be able to display various different effects, such as video, stats, animations and even games for the fans.
The court will be used for the Celebrity Game on Friday night and the 3-point challenge and Slam Dunk contests on Saturday.
This type of floor can cost anywhere from $800,000 to $2.5 million.
