The excitement of back to school is often mixed with feelings of stress and anxiety.
The Rage Room at Jack of All Games in Broken Arrow offers a way for students, parents, and even teachers to channel those feelings in a safe and controlled environment.
The owner, Gene Barber, said his business has been open for two years, but the concept is not new.
"I saw it online, and then I just thought, well, we might as well do it," he said.
Barber argues a rage room is cheaper than therapy. "You feel stuff leaving your body," he added.
It comes from throwing plates and taking a bat to dozens of glass bottles and bigger items, too.
"You can smash TVs, microwaves, printers, any household items really," said Barber.
Is it a permanent solution to back-to-school stress? Maybe not, but he said it has helped people manage it.
"We have had people come in, and they will scream, they will yell, some people walk out crying," Barber continued, saying, "I just think it is a great time and a great space for them to get that out."
This month, he is doing 20% off Rage Room reservations making the cost just $20 per person. Closed-toed shoes and pants are required.
You must be at least 10 years old to go in the Rage Room. To make a reservation call 918-508-6207.
Jack of All Games is located at 3812 S Elm Pl, and the Rage Room is across the street at 3651 S Elm Pl in Broken Arrow.
