OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Governor Brad Henry is nominating Julie Carson of Claremore to a term on the Oklahoma State Board of Regents for Higher Education.

Carson is a graduate of Vanderbilt and holds a law degree from the University of Tulsa. She's also served on the Claremore Public School Foundation Big Brothers and Sisters of Rogers County.

She would succeed Ike Glass on the Board of Regents.

The nomination must be confirmed by the state Senate.
