A group of patriotic moms made a veteran's dream come true Monday. Greg Pallez was in the US Army during Vietnam. He’s now 51 and terminally ill.

To thank him for his service, the Oklahoma Chapter One Blue Star Mothers granted his wish to go to a casino.

Catoosa's Cherokee Casino gave Greg lunch, a jacket and even some money to play with. The Blue Star Moms say Greg was speechless.

Blue Star mom Gaye Beatt: "He said 'I'm not being unfriendly, this is all just a little much for me. And I noticed a couple of times that he was a little overcome and had some tears in his eyes.”

Greg was the first person to have his wish granted as part of the Blue Star Mothers' "Wish upon a Blue Star" program.
