Several Oklahoma soldiers received one of the nation's highest honors Tuesday.

Major General Harry Wyatt: "Born at sea, baptized in blood, your fame will never die. You are one of the best, if not the best in the history of American arms.”

At the state capitol Tuesday in Oklahoma City, 14 bronze stars were presented to members of the 45th Infantry Brigade of the Oklahoma National Guard. The members served in combat operations in Iraq.

One Purple Heart was also given out. “The purple heart is awarded this morning to Captain Colby Wyatt." Captain Wyatt was injured when his humvee was attacked.

The Purple Heart is awarded for injuries received in combat. The Bronze Star is for heroic service in combat.
