OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals set a June 8 execution date Wednesday for a man convicted of killing his aunt.

Attorney General Drew Edmondson asked the court to schedule the execution of Robert Leroy Bryan after the U.S. Supreme Court denied Bryan's final appeal.

Bryan was sentenced to death for the Sept. 11, 1993, slaying of Mildred Inabell Bryan, 69. She was found shot once in the forehead with a .22 caliber rifle on the property adjoining her Elk City home.

Investigators said Bryan withdrew money from his aunt's bank account after her death.

Edmondson said his office had thoroughly reviewed the case and determined that DNA testing would "be of no value and would have no relevance as to actual innocence."
