Thousands of Americans are helping to restore order in Iraq. From the homefront, computer specialist Kris Graves with the US Army Corps of Engineers says she would return to the war-torn country if it wasn't for her loved ones who worry for her safety.

Graves went to Iraq to support engineers as they worked to restore the country's major source of revenue. "Their income is dependent on oil. 98% of their income comes from oil, so in order to help them get their country back in a stable way, we had to get the oil exported."

Graves says her experience in Iraq made her even more proud to be an American. She's been awarded the Army's Superior Civilian Service Award, for volunteering to serve in Iraq.

Seven members of Tulsa's US Army Corps of Engineers are still working overseas.
