A minor oil spill is being cleaned up near Sand Springs. Fire crews were called to an oil well fire on South 140th West Avenue at about 10:30 Monday morning.

When crews arrived on the scene they found about 10 to 20 barrels of oil had spilled from an abandoned well and the landowner was trying to burn the oil off his pond.

No official word on what caused the oil to spill, but the landowner thinks a horse may have kicked the valve, causing a leak.
