Thousands of books are headed into the hands of Oklahoma kids. The Bank of Oklahoma has been collecting books for its Caring for Kids book drive. On Friday, the bank's senior vice president presented the general manager of Tulsa Transit with 3,000 books for its buses. Volunteers of America will be distributing those books to Tulsa Transit and across the area. Tulsa Transit is putting its books on buses next week.

"People will be able to read a book to their children while they're on the bus, but they'll also be able to take a book home for the child to keep," said Tulsa Transit General Manager William Cartwright.

"We'll be taking them to recreation centers, to the Y's, and all across the county in order to get them in the hands of children," said Volunteers of America President John Selph.

Bank of Oklahoma says the goal is to get books to kids who need them most.
