Tulsa Native Killed In Vegas Courthouse Shooting Laid To Rest

Traffic came to a standstill Monday on the Las Vegas strip for the procession carrying Stanley Cooper's body. His funeral followed.

TULSA, OK -- A former Tulsa police officer is remembered in Las Vegas.  Traffic came to a standstill Monday on the Las Vegas strip for the procession carrying Stanley Cooper's body. His funeral followed.

The 72-year-old security guard was shot and killed inside a Las Vegas federal courthouse last week.

Cooper was from Turley and graduated from Tulsa's Central High School. He was a Tulsa police officer for four years before he joined the Las Vegas Police Department, where he retired after 26 years on the force.

U.S. Marshalls killed the suspect in the shooting. He was reportedly upset over his reduction in social security benefits.
