Tulsa area workers earn less than the national average, according to a news release from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The comparative wage study released Tuesday includes employment and wage information for 22 occupational groups and more than 500 jobs in the greater Tulsa area.
Some of the highlights of the Occupational Employment and Wages in Tulsa, May 2011 report include the mean wage for all occupations in the Tulsa area: $19.22 per hour compared to a national average of $21.74.

Local wages for the major job groups ranged from $9.38 per hour in food preparation and serving-related jobs to $45.02 in legal occupations.
