Tulsa police have arrested a 17-year-old wanted in connection with a Joplin murder.

Marcus Dwayne Stephens, of Tulsa, is one of the five people accused in a burglary that turned deadly in July. He was taken into custody by TPD on Saturday, a jail official confirmed to News On 6.

Jacob A. Wages, 23, was found dead in a Joplin residence on the morning of July 6. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Daniel Hartman, 17, also of Tulsa, has already been charged with first-degree murder in the case and is in jail in Jasper County, Mo. He is accused of being the trigger-man.

The Tri-State Major Case Squad arrested two other men this summer, Johnathan J. Taylor, 19, of Joplin, and Cody E. Stephens, 20, of Parsons, Kan., in connection with the crime. They were both charged with first-degree burglary.

Joplin police announced on Friday that Stephens may have returned to the Tulsa area.

Stephens, who also has gone by the name of Marcus Hill, is being held at the Tulsa County jail as a fugitive from justice.
