ROGERS COUNTY, Oklahoma - Editor's note: In earlier versions of this story, the Rogers County Sheriff's Office described the stabbing victim as Hallagin's son-in-law, but the victim has informed News On 6 he is not married to Hallagin's daughter. RCSO also described the couple's child as a girl, but the boyfriend tells News On 6 the child is a boy.

Rogers County Sheriff's Office arrested a Talala man for stabbing his daughter's boyfriend in the face Monday night.

John Blaine Hallagin, 46, was arrested on a complaint of assault with a dangerous weapon. He was taken into custody just before 9 p.m.

Captain Jerry Smittle with the Rogers County Sheriff's Office said the daughter and her boyfriend came over to Hallagin's home to pick up a heater when an altercation took place.

The argument ended when Hallagin stabbed his son-in-law in the face in front of the couple's 7-month-old son, Smittle said.

The boyfriend was taken to a Tulsa hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Rogers County Sheriff's Office.
