Hicks Park Killer Given Life Without Parole
TULSA, Oklahoma - A man who killed a young couple in Hicks Park two years ago has been formally sentenced to life without parole.
Darren Price was convicted last month in the murders of Carissa Horton and Ethan Nichols, who were killed execution style. A judge sentenced him on Thursday.
Horton was an Oral Roberts University student who had just left a Christian concert with Nichols, her boyfriend. They went for a walk in the park and were shot to death.
Price was arrested with both his victims' cell phones. A clinching piece of testimony was a text message conversation with police. Prosecutors said Price was posing as his victims, texting with family members after the murder.
Co-conspirator Jerard Davis is serving a life sentence after pleading guilty in the shootings.
