Police arrested a man they say broke into two homes early Monday morning.
Police identify the man as Phillip Smith, 26.
In the first incident, police say an elderly Tulsa woman called 911 after he forced his way into her home in the 2100 block of East Tecumseh at about 2:15 a.m.
Police said the victim heard her dogs barking and opened the front door. That's when the man forced his way inside then ran out the back door.
A short time later, police got a second 911 call about another burglary on the same block. Police said Smith attempted to forced his way inside through a sliding back door.
Police arrested him nearby.
"At this point, he appears to be under the influence of some type of intoxicant and he's going to jail," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Ryan Woods.
Police said the victim in the first incident was taken to the hospital to be treated for high blood pressure.
Tulsa Police took Smith to a hospital before being booked into the Tulsa County jail on a complaint of first-degree burglary and attempted first-degree burglary. Jail records show Phillip Smith was being held in lieu of $40,000 bond with a court appearance set for July 15, 2014.
