Authorities say a Vinita couple was caught with nearly a pound of crystal meth in an arrest just north over Sailboat Bridge over the weekend.

The Delaware County Sheriff's Office reports that Tayler Marie Marvina Warren and Robert "Curt" Rogers have been charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Detective Brandon Houston was driving on Highway 59 around 7 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014, when he saw a car parked on side of the road. A couple - Warren and Rogers - appeared to be arguing with each other, and Houston stopped to make sure there was no violence, according to a release from the Sheriff's Office.

Houston said the pair gave conflicting stories, and he could see drug paraphernalia and ammunition in plain view in their vehicle. When he asked about the bullets, Rogers reportedly told him Warren always carried a firearm.

The detective recovered a loaded, small-caliber revolver, drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine from the car and put the couple under arrest. He found a larger amount of meth in a grocery sack in the back seat of their car, according to the release.

The release states the couple had gone to Grove to shop and eat and gotten into an argument on the way home. Warren, 43, reportedly got out of the car during the argument.

Both have been released on bond. Rogers, 39, was also charged with possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.
