We The People To Protest For Arrest Of Officer Shelby
TULSA, Oklahoma - We The People has announced that it will be protesting Tuesday at 6 p.m. at 600 Civic Center.
The group announced Tuesday morning that the 'Protest For Justice' is calling for the arrest of TPD Officer Betty Shelby, who fatally shot Terence Crutcher September 16.
"This rally's emphasis is on arresting her," said organizer Marq Lewis.
Lewis said the group thinks that there is nothing that bars the TPD from arresting Shelby, and that there have been plenty of people who've been arrested while an investigation is ongoing.
"That's why we're holding this rally. We want to make sure people will come out, and it's going to be peaceful so people don't have to worry about that," Lewis said.
We The People is asking people to bring signs and said water stations will be available.
