TULSA, Oklahoma - Hundreds of people lined up at Guthrie Green this morning for a chance to sing on the "American Idol" stage.

The line of hopefuls stretched for nearly three blocks at one point, some coming from Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri and Texas.

"I love to sing and even if I don't make it through to the next round ... this is dedicated to the people in Houston, my heart is out to the people of Houston," said Aliyah Medlock of Dallas.

Medlock said she left Dallas at 2 a.m. to make sure she got a spot in line.

We were there when American Idol held auditions back in 2015.

Oklahoma's own and country music star, Carrie Underwood won the title of American Idol in 2005.

Tulsa is among 19 cities serving as an audition site this year.
