TPD: Driver Suspected Of DUI Rear-Ends Vehicle Which Crashes Into Building
TULSA, Oklahoma - Employees are cleaning up after police said a woman ran into the back of a car, forcing it inside a building.
Police responded to the call in the 2800 block of East Admiral Place just before 1:00 Tuesday afternoon. When they arrived, they found a small Toyota Corolla had been rear-ended and crashed into a business.
Police said the driver of a red Nissan Xterra caused the crash. They said she might have been high on PCP.
They said after she rear-ended the other vehicle she kept going and wound up smashing into a fence less than a block down the road.
"The medics were checking on her when I arrived. I asked her a couple questions and she couldn't answer anything for me, didn't know what happened. Literally, her eyes were looking two different directions," Officer Josh Goldstein said.
Goldstein said during the investigation, an officer noticed a chemical smell coming from the car.
"Sees a wet cigarette in the center console. I took that out and tested it and it field-tested positive for PCP," he said.
The man in the Corolla was taken to the hospital with serious bruising to his body and head. The driver of Xterra car was taken to the hospital for medical clearance and a drug test.
Police said the woman could face several charges, including DUI and hit and run.
