TULSA, Oklahoma - Tulsa Public Schools is getting ready to host a hiring event on Saturday.

The event will be at Will Rogers High School, starting at around 9:00 a.m.

TPS says on its website that the district has 103 openings.  These openings include jobs in administration, child nutrition, custodians, and elementary, middle, and high school teachers.

With three new education funding bills now signed into law, the average teacher in Oklahoma will see a raise of about $6,000 next year.

According to the state Department of Education, a brand new teacher with no experience and a bachelor's degree would be paid $5,000 more than a teacher with that same experience was paid this school year.

The hiring event will last until 3:00 p.m. Saturday, giving teacher, counselor, and librarian applicants the opportunity to sign up for interview times with principals and staff.
