Talala World War II Hero To Be Inducted Into Oklahoma Military Hall Of Fame
TALALA, Oklahoma - A Green Country World War II hero, who made the ultimate sacrifice for his country, will be recognized next month.
Sergeant Roy Harmon from Talala will be inducted into the Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame. He died in a wheat field in Italy after single-handedly attacking three enemy machine-gun nests, saving the lives of a platoon of soldiers.
His one man assault earned Harmon the Medal of Honor.
