Ten wineries will provide samples of a variety of locally-produced wines at the fifth annual Wines of the West festival.
The festival is scheduled on Saturday in the Stockyards City area of Oklahoma City. The event begins at noon and will feature wine tasting in an Old West environment.
Visitors can taste local wines and browse the retail shops in Stockyards City, which has been active for more than a century offering western wear, entertainment and ambience. Stockyards City is on the National Register of Historic Places and still holds weekly live cattle auctions.
The agritourism program is a partnership of the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry and the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department. More than 62 wineries are located in the state with approximately 139 commercial vineyards.
