John 3:16 Mission Holiday Help

John 3:16 Mission is the News On 6 at 4 p.m. non-profit of the month. More than 200 people are staying there this holiday season, and the mission needs help to make sure everyone gets a gift.

They can always use money, but you can also donate gifts for their Christmas store, food that can be used in Christmas baskets and other items listed below.

Gathering Place Winter Wonderland

It’s going to look a lot like Christmas at Gathering Place next week! Winter Wonderland presented by American Airlines will fill the park with holiday cheer starting on December 18.

All activities are free and open to the public. The event runs from 5 – 8 p.m. December 18 through January 1.

Tulsa Public Schools Community Budget Meetings

Tulsa Public Schools is holding a new round of public meetings to get the community involved in discussions about saving money. Meetings this week:

  • Monday, December 9: 5:30-7 p.m. at the McLain High School Fieldhouse
  • Tuesday, December 10: 5:30-7 p.m. at the Memorial High School gymnasium
  • Wednesday, December 11: 5:30-7 p.m. at the East Central School gymnasium
  • Thursday, December 12: 5:30-7 p.m. at the Webster High School Allen Fieldhouse

The Angel Tree hopes to serve 6,400 kids total this year, and they've only met around 65 percent of their overall goal.

Oklahoma 2019 Holiday Ornament Announced 

Oklahomans will now be able to get their hands on the state's 2019 Holiday Ornament. This year's ornament is the Governor's Mansion inside of a snow globe. The ornament costs $15. For more information, click here

The health department said you can get the flu vaccine on a walk-in basis Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Tulsa Health Department locations below:
