Tulsa Fire Department Kicks Off Fire Prevention Week

The Tulsa fire department kicked off its annual fire prevention week today at the newly renamed Wayman Tisdale Fine Arts Academy. To make it extra special, a nephew of Wayman Tisdale, Rodney Tisdale, is one of the firefighters behind the fire prevention events.

"He was such a great man, and he wanted to see so much in our community done," said Roney Tisdale, Tulsa Fire Department.

"And to be here, for our fire prevention week kicking off right now, I don't have words to say. I can't express how I feel, how glad I am to see these kids."

As part of fire prevention week, firefighters will visit each school in the district.
