Claremore Police are rolling out a new community policing strategy.
Officers said when they're on the scene and want to ask neighbors about a crime in the area, it’s rare to find somebody at home. Now, officers will use door hangers to ask neighbors to call police if they know anything or if their security system may have caught something on camera.
"What we're trying to do is use some old-fashioned police work in this new age of technology to help people to give us a better ability to serve our citizens," said Chief Stan Brown with Claremore Police.
Officers said the idea worked for another agency and they hope it brings Claremore Police the same success.
