A Tulsa County jury recommends a father spend 25 years in prison after police found of his four children back in 2017 locked in a home while he and his wife lived five miles away.

Prosecutors say 36-year-old Adam Hemphill Sr. kept the children in the house with no running water or working bathrooms.

Police were called to investigate the home near 21st and Garnett on June 23rd, 2017.  According to court documents, when they arrived they found four between the ages of 10 and 11 alone in the locked home.

Hemphill's wife, Shamecio Willis, is serving seven years in prison for child neglect after entering a guilty plea back in May 2018.
