Two Sent To Hospital After Dune-Buggy Crash

Two people are in the hospital after their off-road vehicle flipped over.

It happened around 5:30 p.m near 81st and Elwood when a dune buggy went off-road. Tulsa Police say while these sorts of vehicles aren't more necessarily more dangerous they don't have the same protection for a serious crash like this.

"A normal vehicle hits that culvert and an airbag goes off. It's gonna save them but that vehicle doesn't have any of that protection, so," said TPD Officer Josh Goldstein.

Investigators are still determining what caused the crash.
