Mannford Police took three teenagers into custody they say fired shots in a neighborhood three blocks east of the school campus.
Police Chief Lucky Miller says the boys, two 15-year-olds and one 14-year-old, walked out of school before lunch.
He says the teenagers went to a house where one of the teenagers lives near Granda Drive and Greenwood Avenue.
Miller says the teens grabbed a pistol that belonged to the father and started shooting in the yard. The police chief says officers got several calls from people who heard the shots.
Miller says when Officer Matt Waltman got to the area he spotted three teenagers in the backyard. Police say the teens initially tried to hide in a camper, then took off running toward the school.
He says witnesses spotted the teenagers going into another house, which is where officers found the three and took them into custody.
Miller says the teens hid the gun before running away, but officers have recovered the weapon.
The police chief says he gave Mannford Public Schools the all clear to lift the lockdown.
He says the teenager could face charges.
