Tulsa County Sheriff Vic Regalado is at the White House Wednesday meeting with top law enforcement officers from across the country.

Sheriff Regalado says he is joining with 44 other sheriffs to call on Congress to increase border security and reform America's immigration system.

In a news release, Sheriff Regalado says the White House meeting will stress the importance of cooperation between local, state and federal law enforcement.  Adding, this meeting is an opportunity to push for meaningful immigration reform.

“The purpose of my visit is to express to policy makers and members of Congress, the urgency of passing legislation on the security aspects of immigration reform,” Sheriff Vic Regalado said.

“As Sheriff, I was elected to protect all members of the Tulsa County Community. Criminal aliens often target undocumented members of their communities, because they know those victims fear law enforcement and their crimes will likely go unreported.  I see my time in D.C. as an opportunity to push for meaningful immigration reform, as a way to uphold my promise to protect the citizens I serve.”
