Broken Arrow Police arrested a man they said admitted to breaking into cars.
According to police, around 7:20 a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018, officers responded to the 4400 block of West Urbana Street.
A homeowner told police a stranger was in their backyard.
When they arrived, they found the man and said he gave them a fake name. Eventually, police said they identified him as 22-year-old Tyler Smithee.
Police said Smithee admitted he was breaking into cars in the area.
Before officers responded to the report of a suspicious person, they were investigating a stolen vehicle that was abandoned near the area. Police said they were able to link Smithee to that stolen vehicle and stolen property located inside the vehicle.
Smithee was arrested and charged with several counts, including second-degree burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle and more.
