A 63-year-old Claremore man died after Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say he failed to yield to an oncoming pickup just before 8 a.m. Friday, August 31.

Troopers say Robert Carroll was southbound on State Highway 51B at State Highway 104 when he turned east toward Porter. He was hit by a Coweta man going northbound on Highway 104.

Carroll was taken by medical helicopter to a Tulsa hospital where he died of his injuries, a collision report states. The other driver wasn't hurt.

The investigating trooper said the cause of the collision was failure to yield.
