Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers step up their presence on the state's lakes to keep everyone safe for the Labor Day holiday weekend.
The OHP reminds everyone, don't drink and get in a boat.
Besides being impaired, they say there are other things which could land you in trouble.
"We look for people who are driving too fast way to close to other boats because if everyone would just keep their distance we think that we'd have less accidents," said OHP trooper Ryan Griffith.
Troopers will also be making sure everyone has a life vest.
You're required to have one for every person on your boat and it must be readily accessible.
