The Skiatook Fire Department says a propane leak Thursday evening is contained and residents who live nearby were allowed to return home early Friday.
According to the Skiatook's Fire Chief James Annas, the leak was discovered at a Ferrellgas storage and transfer facility located in the 4500 block of West Rogers Boulevard which is Highway 20.
"You err on the side of caution and you make sure that folks are protected. And that's the number one thing we were worried about - is citizen safety," said Fire Chief James Annas.

Police officers temporarily evacuated apartments and three neighborhoods within a half-mile of the leak. The fire department also asked for Tulsa Fire's HAZMAT unit to respond as a precaution.
No injuries were reported.
