Broken Arrow Police are putting up billboards around town reminding people to lock their cars.
Officers say more than 130 vehicles have been broken into in the last three months and nearly 60 cars were stolen during that same time.
Police say in about 75 percent of those cases the vehicles were unlocked.
“We’ve been battling this issue for a long time,” said Lisa Ford with the Broken Arrow Police Department. “We’ve been trying to do extra patrols, getting a bicycle unit to go through neighborhoods, and we are just not getting the message out.”
Police say that, as well as locking your car, you should never leave valuables or guns inside vehicles.
