Rogers County deputies have arrested a man accused of raping a teenage girl he was holding against her will.
Deputies said the teenage girl was able to call 911 and get help after being held Thursday and part of Friday.
The Rogers County Sheriff's Office arrested James Hurt, a registered lifetime sex offender on complaints of kidnapping and first-degree rape.
Investigators said Hurt met a 15-year-old girl at 11th and Garnett around 11:30 Wednesday night and they went to a home near 98th Street North and 161st East Avenue where he lives. However, Hurt is not the homeowner.
"We're at the end of a dead end I mean there's not traffic going by," said investigator Gavin Gatrell with the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigator Gatrell said the girl was found near an outbuilding on the property after calling 911 to get help.
She told investigators she was being held against her will and that she was raped.
"The information we're getting is super heinous," said Gatrell,
Gatrell said this is a case of human trafficking and investigators are working to learn more about an injury on the girl's face.
"She did have a mark on her face like a black eye unknown if that was prior to, or related to this incident, I don't know," Gatrell said.
Hurt has a record in Tulsa County dating back to 2001 when he served time for sexual battery and drug charges.
"It's real spooky, ya know? You don't know what's gonna take place, do you? You don't know," said neighbor Richard Jones.
Jones said he, like many of his neighbors, keeps to himself. The scene unfolded just beyond his backyard.
"You don't really know your neighbor anymore, hardly, you know," Jones said.
The sheriff's office said DHS is also involved in the investigation.
