The Special Olympics Summer Games start in a couple months in Seattle.  Recently, a pair of Green Country powerlifters showed how they will represent Oklahoma.

Seeing these athletes in action is something to behold.

Earlier this month, Catoosa hosted a Green Country Powerlifting event with Liz Hubert of Catoosa and Caleb Cain of Poteau taking it one step further.  Both set personal bests to prepare for the USA Games this summer.

"I don't psych myself out, I just push through it. I push through the weight, I never give up on lifting, I try my best," said Liz Hubert, Catoosa powerlifter.

"I got everything and I want to win this, I want to win this," said Caleb Cain, Poteau powerlifter.

Liz Hubert learned to lift from her coach Shelley Gibson and had a great support group.  Caleb learned from his dad.  They both have a huge passion for lifting and the right mentality.

"It's not about winning or losing, it's about having fun," said Liz Hubert.

The Special Olympics are an opportunity for those with intellectual disabilities to compete.  Liz and Caleb along with two other powerlifters from the Oklahoma City area are excited not only to compete, but also to display their talents among the country's best.

"Exciting and happy because a lot of people don't have the opportunity to do this," said Liz Hubert.

And they'll get that opportunity starting July 1st in Seattle.
