The Rogers County Sheriff's Office is once again warning people about a phone call scam where callers pretend to be deputies and ask for money.

According to the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office, several residents have been contacted by an individual trying to convince the victim that they have an outstanding warrant for "failing to appear for jury duty,"

They said the caller asks people to get a green dot card, a prepaid money card, then asks for the card number over the phone.

This same tactic was previously noted several months ago in the same area.

The sheriff's office said that they will never contact anyone over the phone or ask for money for any reason.

If you receive a similar phone the sheriff's office recommends that you should just hang up.
