The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is sending its mobile kitchen to low-income areas to help feed children who normally depend on school lunches throughout the week.
Officials say they will go to nine sites every day.
"The mobile eateries really allow for families to feel safe and not have to have kids crossing major intersections if they have transportation challenges," said Eileen Bradshaw with Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.
They say it's been tough trying to figure out the best strategy to feed kids, because it's not clear how long the walkout will last.
