Tulsa Hit-And-Run Suspect Slams Into Sonic

Tulsa police are looking for a driver they say hit multiple cars and a building Friday afternoon.

Officers said just before 1:30 p.m., a gray GMC Acadia SUV was pulling into a parking spot of the QuikTrip near 71st and Mingo and sideswiped a white Chevrolet four-door sedan.

Police said the driver of the Acadia tried to drive away but jumped the curb and hit a light pole.

Then, they said, the driver "accelerated wildly," spun in a circle around the parking lot, into the parking lot of the Sonic next door and hit another parked car, pushing it into a dumpster.

Police said the driver, still trying to drive away, hit the corner of the Sonic then left the scene south through a neighborhood.

They found the vehicle in a parking lot about a mile-and-a-half away. The driver was seen running away near 81st and Mingo while talking on a cell phone, police said.

Officers also said the driver of the white Chevrolet sedan also left the scene before police arrived.

No injuries have been reported.
