Emergency crews responded to Wagoner County after a motorist became stranded in high water on Ben Lumpkin Road. News On 6 was told a young woman lost control of her Mustang while trying to drive in high water near 51st and 305th East Avenue, just east of Broken Arrow.

She was stuck in the water for about 40 minutes, according to a deputy on scene. Someone came and helped her through the waist-deep water.

Wagoner County Sheriff's Office, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Oak Grove Fire Department responded to the scene. The woman was taken to a nearby location to get warmed up.

Deputies said it would probably take a day or two for water to recede enough to remove the car.

An SUV driver went through the barricades not long after the Mustang was stranded. Authorities said that driver would be ticketed.
