Tulsa Man Wounded In Apparent Home Break-In

Tulsa police are investigating a shooting near Independence and Delaware Thursday morning. The shooting took place in a duplex in the 2700 block of East Independence.

A wounded man told police he was lying on his couch when someone kicked in his door around 6:45 a.m. Police said the men argued, and at least two shots were fired. The victim was hit in the leg, police said.

The wounded man was transported. Police were able to catch his dog which ran out during the disturbance and return him to the duplex.

They've interviewed neighbors to try to learn more information, and police tell News On 6 there has been trouble at the residence before.

Authorities have wrapped up their on-scene investigation but are still looking for the shooter. They said the victim was unable to provide many details about the suspect before being taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening wound.
